hola hola hola

Now that we are all good and exhausted from our week of boot camp, we are back in classes for the dreaded final two weeks of classes. Two fun-filled weeks, fully equipped with as many quizzes, tests, presentations, and compositions that our professors can possibly throw at us. Today I had a Spanish quiz, tomorrow a book discussion for Ecology, Thursday a Spanish presentation, Friday all-day Ecology lab, and Saturday morning you can find me sitting alone in the woods taking my Ecology midterm for 3 hours. That's right. Scott's idea of a rockin time-- writing 4-5 pages on species interactions, hermit style, kickin it with the leaf cutter ants and sibling-eating frog babies. I could pee myself I'm so excited.

Read: I am stressed out of my mind and will be until November 22.

I can't believe our program is ending in 12 days. Craziness. At least we will all be relocated back to Athens, unlike poor Ecology group which is dispersed evenly across the US. I would die without LLC love year-round. I can't wait for high tea back at Deany Weany's casa.

Today is laundry day. Gracias a Dios. I feel so bad for whoever opens up those bags.. Yikes. I just hope no one dies. I love laundry day because inevitably you get someone who has legitimately run out of clothes and walks around all day in whatever they can scrounge up from the bottom of their suitcase. Take today, for example. Ann walked into the comedor for breakfast this morning in a black long sleeve shirt, plaid bermuda shorts, and tye dye blue knee-high socks. Classic.

Breakfast this morning was dreadfully unsatisfying. No huevos. No pan. Just gallo pinto, plantains, and frutas sin pina. It's not that I am opposed to these food items, as you well know, I was just disappointed that they came unaccompanied is all. The coffee was delicious, though. So delicious, in fact, that I burnt the crap out of my tongue taking a big, greedy sip from my second cup. Sad times. Tastebuds are an integral part of my experience here.

Lunch was okay. Except for they smothered the delicious veggies with ground beef. Ew. I mooched off of Tess's vegetarian mini-portion instead. Lo siento, Tessy. We also had ensalada and rice and lentil beans. Pretty weak, now that I think about it. Turns out it was a good day to lose my taste buds, after all.

I pissed away my afternoon enjoying the Bungalow D wifi. We are still in our honeymoon period so you can stop judging me now. I will cut back later. Much.

Some productivity did come of my web surfing. I figured out how to see the lyrics to songs on my iPod, which I was ecstatic about because I accidentally did it earlier this week and could not for the life of me figure out how to do it again. It was driving me insane. But now I am master of my iPod. I also uploaded boot camp pictures to Facebook and Skyped my little heart out. Great afternoon.

For dinner we had ensalada, rice, lentil beans AND kidney beans, and veggies untouched by meat. Finally some high quality deliciousness. Then for dessert we had these wonderful lemon bars with toasted coconut on top. Sylvia also brought out a pitcher of NON FAT hot chocolate. Yeah. It happened. I drank all the way down to the bottom of my mug without a single chunk of cow fat. It was spectacular.

So I should probably do my Spanish homework and study for that quiz tomorrow.. ugh.

peace love and laundry day
