I'm afraid the other aspects of my life aren't quite as impressive as the flying bit, but I feel inclined to fill you in on them nonetheless. I am still working part-time nannying the coolest 9-year old girls in the world. I've been watching them since the end of May, when their summer break started. Now I pick them up from school three days a week and hang out with them until their parents get home from work around 6. Tomorrow will be my last day with them, and goodbyes are going to be absolutely unbearable. We are having a bon voyage dinner at the Melting Pot for final farewells. It is just going to be a fat sobfest. The girls and I got so close this summer. I am going to miss them so much!
The rest of the hours of my days are spent at LA Fitness cycling classes (my new obsession), bumming around my house spending time with the fam, at therapy, trying to finish my Ecology book before Sunday, journaling, and talking/ texting/ facebooking on my sexy new blackberry. I am coming to understand the true meaning of the term "crackberry."
Okay that makes my life sound really boring, but I have been doing fun things too. I have been going up to Athens a bunch, and I got to go up to Milly a couple weeks back to visit one of my oldest and dearest friends, Jenny. It was just for the night, but a night is all we need! Love that girl. Then this past weekend I went up to Charleston to visit another oldest and dearest, Hollis. She is at CofC and living in an incredible house. It was such a fun weekend! I got up there Friday afternoon and left Sunday night, and there was not a single dull moment. I was sad to leave, but it was a great trip- unbeatable company, delicious food, and nonstop entertainment. Not to mention Charleston itself was freaking adorable. I really couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I have also gotten to go to a bunch of great concerts lately: Saturday night I went to Corey Smith in Charleston, and the week before that I saw Perpetual Groove in Athens, and before that was John Mayer at the new amphitheater in Alpharetta and Jack Johnson at HiFi Buys. I have to say that John Mayer was my favorite of those four. He put on such an amazing show. You must download his cover of "Free Fallin.'" It's incredible. Plus he is dead sexy. This picture is currently my desktop image. Enjoy:
So I will be heading up to Athens one last time tomorrow night after dinner with my girls. I'll be there until Friday, then come back to Roswell and basically go nuts stressing about packing until I leave for Costa Rica on Sunday. Inbetween stressing, I'll be spending time with Dad Saturday morning and then dinner with the rest of the fam at my all-time favorite restaurant Saturday night: Nagoya! Love me some sushi. I have to get my fix before I spend three months without. Wish me luck with the nightmare that is packing.
peace love and deuces.
